Although push notifications are helpful when you want to know about updates to apps, there are times when it’s simply more convenient to turn them off. To turn off push notifications on your iPhone and stop receiving the badges, text alerts and sounds that come along with them, follow the steps below:
1. Tap the “Settings” icon on the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch home screen.
2. Locate and tap the “Notifications” icon on the lefthand side of the main Settings screen.
3. Slide the on/off bar inside of the “Notifications” setting to “Off”
4. Push the “Home” button at the bottom of the device to return to the homescreen.
If and when you decide to begin receiving push notifications again, simply work back through the process and slide the bar to “On.” Once push notifications are turned off, you should stop receiving all notifications from installed apps.
